Kohima, October 25 : RTI Week, 2017, which is being organized by Nagaland Information Commission (NIC), will be celebrated at Administrative Training Institute, Kohima on October 27.

ITANAGAR, Oct 12: On the concluding day of the RTI week celebration, the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) has organized a one-day sensitization workshop for engineers of the state on Thursday. Altogether 31 engineers of various works departments, ministerial officials and stenographers who are functioning as PIOs & APIOs have participated in the workshop.

CHENNAI: The RTI week just ended this Thursday without anyone aware of it. Reason? The Centre supposedly delayed the funds for the annual exercise organised across the country to create awareness on the right to information and encourage transparency in governance.

The Right to Information (RTI) Week 2017 will be observed by Manipur Information Commission from October 5 to 10 like every year with financial assistance from the department of Personnel and Training, ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, government of India at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.

A release said that the RTI week will be observed with the objective of popularising the RTI Act, 2005 and also to spread mass awareness amongst the stakeholders and added that the opening function will be followed by a day-long state level workshop with eminent persons in the field of RTI as resource persons including interactive programme with all the invitees and participants.

It said that a RTI quiz competition with participants from six selected government departments, RTI activists and college students will be held on October 9 at the auditorium hall of LMS Law College, Chingmeirong, Imphal.

Further it said that a district level seminar will also be held at Kangpokpi district headquater on October 7 with district level government officers, NGOs, RTI activists and citizens as the participants.
